University of Exeter: 2024 English Language Requirement Updates & Pre-sessional Applications Now Open

The University of Exeter has announced several key updates regarding English language proficiency and preparatory courses for the Fall 2024 intake:
  • Duolingo Acceptance for Direct Entry:
    To provide students with more flexibility, the University of Exeter will soon begin accepting Duolingo English Test (DET) scores for direct entry into academic programs.
  • English Waiver for 3+1 Program Students:
    Students currently enrolled in 3+1 programs who have completed at least one full academic year in an English-speaking country and earned a degree from that institution will be exempt from providing further English language evidence when applying for taught Master's programs. Note: Official website updates reflecting this policy are forthcoming.
  • Pre-sessional English (PSE) Applications Now Open:
    Applications for the 2024 language cycles are officially live. The University offers a variety of flexible formats to suit different needs:
    • In-Person Tracks: 18-week, 10-week, and 6-week courses.
    • Online Tracks: 12-week and 8-week courses.
    • Blended Option: 18-week course (8 weeks online + 10 weeks in-person).
    Exeter’s language programs boast an exceptional track record, with a 99% pass rate in previous years, ensuring students are well-prepared for their degree studies.
